Following the results of the poll we took last month (don't make it easy on us or anything, guys, haha!), we've decided to hold a comment fic meme once every three months. This gives everyone time to write and prompt to their heart's content, and allows us mods to keep up with y'all. And we're starting right now!

Wee!Sam (5-12) catches the eye of an infertile witch. She kidnaps him and casts a spell on him to make him believe that she is his mother.

John and Dean, furious, burn the witches spellbook and, knowing the curse will wear off eventually, steal Sammy and take him back on the road after feeding him some lie about John being a family friend/long-lost uncle/absent father. Sammy thinks the two Winchesters are pretty confusing ("Mommy says I'm not supposed to play with guns" and "Mommy says there are no such things as monsters") but what he really can't figure out is why Dean, this super-cool kid, is attentive and protective and wants to hang out with him, even though Sammy knows he must just be a snot-nosed, geeky little brat to the older boy.

Cue adorable!shy!Sammy being completely in awe of fierce!protective!Dean.

Outside it's hot and muggy, like it always is, even though Sam dreams sometimes of cooler places. He dreams so vividly of other states and towns that he's never seen that he swears sometimes he's really been there. He wishes he were somewhere else, now. Somewhere not as hot. Maybe he and Dean could go swimming ( ... )

"Why?" Sam asks, and Dean's looking at him funny, like Sam's stupid for asking in the first place, but how can he be stupid when it's the truth? "Y-You don't know me. I...I'm the geeky kid in the back of the class. I-I don't have any friends. I don't know how much your dad's paying you-"

"Paying me?" Dean says incredulously, eyes wider by the second. "Sammy, no-"

"I'm not cool like you are," Sam finally says miserably. "I'm just a dorky kid who gets thrown into lockers and tripped and picked on. Why are you hanging out with me, protecting me from the bullies? You should be one of the guys that bullies me!"

Dean's face darkens, and Sam knows he's not mad at the bullies now. "No way," Dean snarls. "Never. I would never, ever hurt you. Not a chance in hell, Sammy ( ... )

Awww. Love it! Especially Dean cuffing him on the back of his head for thinking he's not cool. Only Dean is allowed to say that about Sam (though he doesn't really mean it). Everyone should have a Dean as an older brother....or rather an older brother like Dean (because if Dean was my actual older brother, I'd be having some very incestuous thoughts).

To have my prompt filled so quickly, and by such a talented writer - it's just too much. And the fic was way better than I imagined. I especially liked the addition of the bullies, how you showed what Sam's life (or, false life + two weeks) was like without Dean.

The boys are adorable, delightful, and perfectly in character. The story is well-written, charming, with a touch of suspense. You are AWESOME!

That's such a beautiful and totally adorable story.♥

LOVED these lines :

He's gentle about it, and when they go back out, he's still got Sam by
the hand. Like he cares. Like he's not forced to babysit Sam, like he
wants to watch out for Sam. It's a nice feeling. It's just a hard thing
to believe.

"It's my job, Sammy," he says again. "I'll always watch out for you."

Seriously, your characterization is so spot on. kudos. Really, really, loved that fic ! :D
