This was lovely! I've had my share of experiences roaming about in blistering hot sunshine (kind of the reason I put up this prompt) and you did a great job in capturing how it feels - the writing was very visceral, and very effective. Kudos!
One of my favourite aspects in hurt!Sam stories is reading about Dean trying to deal, and you've written that superbly here. Dean's monologue, interrupted by all those little asides, simultaneously manages to be funny and gives us a sense of Dean's panic and concern.
The ending's a nice way to round it all off. :)
All in all: thank you so much for filling my prompt so wonderfully!
Haha, that's part of the reason I took the prompt, as well. I'm glad you like it - I tried my best to put the heat into the story.
Ah, thanks for that. I always worry that writing from Dean's view will just take the focus off of Sam for too much, but I'm grateful that you think it worked.
Thank you, and you're welcome! :) It was my pleasure.
Loved this. Dean's an awesome big brother when he actually bothers to try. Poor Sammy, though. I never had a heatstroke, but I don't imagine it's a lot of fun.
Thank you! Yes, and I think the times where he doesn't try eats him up later. I deal with hot climates all the time and it's definitely not fun at all.
