the lady i babysit for had the first episode playing in the morning when i went over and i ended up spending the whole day playing with my charge and watching this show, now i'm hooked. i'm well aware it's wildly historically inaccurate and the forever 21 quality clothing drives me nuts (like they didn't even try with some stuff, so many of their dresses are too modern looking) plus how can you have a show about mary queen of scots but not make her a redhead???? bye

but its fucking addicting

I mean... I've always said that no matter what I think of the show itself, I do have this strange respect and admiration for it's total disregard of history.

Although this Mary reminds me of how originally, they wanted Natalie Dormer to keep her blonde hair on the Tudors. Can you imagine a blonde Anne Boleyn?

i often find myself shaking my head in disbelief at some of the stuff the show does and how wildly unlikely it would've been for the time period, but honestly it's so ridiculous that i can excuse the inaccuracy

a blonde anne boleyn would've been SO weird, omg

I mean... there are so many shows that are touted as historically accurate that are not at all, so I like this one for getting rid of that pretense.

The blonde Anne Boleyne actually really pissed me off when I first heard about it, because they portrayed Catherine of Aragon as a brown-eyed brunette and the implications there just made me... ugh. It's like we as a society are unable to comprehend that Catherine of Aragon was considered beautiful for the time (or at least she was in her prime) and that Henry VIII left her for a woman who didn't fit the beauty standard.

I think I'm giving up Reign... I didn't watch tonight. I realized it was 8:01 and I was like "but ugh it's going to end up cancelled and Francis is going to die and I'm not even that into it anymore..."

I almost left it, too, tbh.

But so far it seems to be going back to being a fun hot mess rather than the boring, aggravating one it was in S2.

lol i'm with you there on all counts tbh.

i quit reign after the rape story line last season and haven't looked back, and i was thisclose to quitting TVD after nina left, but the whole dystopian mystic falls and the potential of the heretics lured me back in, ugh. i was the same with SPN, too-- i was ready to quit for good (after a dozen failed attempts) after charlie was killed off, but after i read about the finale online, the darkness and the potential consequences of killing death seemed interesting and now i'm sucked back into that damn show, too. TVD and SPN's new seasons do seem to be way better than the couple though so i'm gonna give them both one more chance. if TVD doesn't end after this season i'll likely call it quits for reals this time, though.

i actually love the originals, though, and think it's way better than most of the shows on the CW except for the flash, which is obviously the superior show on that network.

This show is on life support but I'm kind of digging how the choice to remove any suspense of Francis dying.

How Katherine of Aragon of Mary to marry the little brother.

Also how long can they keep Catherine locked up? She's the best part of the show.
