My friend is going nuts because she had tickets to what turned out to be one of his last tapings, but she didn't get in. They stopped letting people in when there were two people in front of her.

why to tweets only embed properly once you're in the post itself o_O

also, never knew this-> from the Guardian article in the post:

Stephen Fry was supposed to be a team captain on BBC2 panel game QI when it started in 2003, but reluctantly took over as its presenter when the producer’s original choice, Michael Palin, turned it down.

“He said ‘I really don’t want to do this, I want to be captain of the clever team’ [opposite Alan Davies’s, er, less clever team]. And when we saw the pilot, we thought it was the job that Stephen was born to do.”

I read his second biography, and that always surprised me because he made it clear that he really liked the idea of having a "showman"-style career in an old-fashioned sort of way. I feel like quiz host is one of the oldest, hokiest showman careers there is.

I agree with you it was weird how she quit without saying what she was doing next. I still wish they picked Susan Calman to be the host of The News Quiz, though.

I like Susan but I can only take her in small doses. She tends to talk way too much about herself, it can get annoying. I think Miles Jupp is doing a fine job so far.
