Maria being the top earning woman with only 20ish compared top earning man RF with 58. And Serena nowhere on the list despite being a legendary athlete that ought to have brands fighting over her.

With men it's like be the best while for women nothing matters if no men want to fuck you.

And I see the East European getting half RF's money >_>

this skit is about kournikova tho

sharapova may flop to Serena all the time but when she's not playing her she's actually good

Tiger Woods is still quietly raking it in.

In one sense it feels weird that the top 3 are all playing tennis or golf, though I guess those are high-profile individual sports, which confers a bit of an advantage over most individual players of a team sport.

not having 2 be athletic

When I was in freshmen year I got in an argument with my scumbag PE teacher because of this.
He probably played golf and got offended with me

Maria Sharapova being the highest paid woman is the perfect emblem of everything wrong with society's view of women's athletes. She won't do weight training because it will mess up her ~feminine physique, even though her lack of strength clearly puts her at a disadvantage against the best player in her sport; and as a financial decision, she's making the right choice.

No, her actual quote was something about how she can't lift weights for more than 5 minutes and she doesn't think she needs to for her sport. But she's not dumb enough to actually believe that imo, so I'm reading between the lines lol.

Did she say her sport or her game? Cos if she said game, she's got a point.

It's short-sighted to assume she could turn into a Serena style player if she just bulked up, Serena is something else. Serena's powerful, but that's not the only reason she is the champion she is.

It's like Federer trying to bulk up and play Nadal's game cos he has such a bad record against him, it's just not going to work. It's not how Federer plays. You'd be simple if you didn't think Federer was powerful, but him lifting weights to get Nadal's biceps wouldn't help his game.

Murray has pretty much proven over the last year that you can't try and adapt your style to face the players you don't play well against. Serena's game just completely undoes Maria's, like Rafa's undoes Roger's.
