Nina Simone's tribute album will be released July 10 and will contain covers from Usher, Mary J. Blige, Gregory Porter, Common, Jazmine Sullivana and Nina Simone’s daughter, Lisa.

The album will come out in conjunction with a Netflix documentary, titled What Happened, Miss Simone?.

I'm not one of those cover snubs, but I'm of the mindset that no one can sing this song as good as Nina does. I thought Lauryn might do a good job, but she sounded like she was rushing it.

Covers can be good, but they mostly try to mimic the entire song

Her voice sounds tired.

Jazmine Sullivan is so underrated though. Her new album is amazing. I saw her in concert last month and she killed it.

She sounds good (relative to other vocalists, not to her past voice) but idk if it's the sound mixing, the arrangement or something else...it just feels off.

it seems a bit out of sync and she's overdoing it a little with the vibrato(?)
the miseducation of lauryn hill is one of my favourite albums of all time

She's cutting short the delivery of the lines. This is a song with sustained notes, why attempt it if you sound out of breath from the very first line?
