I think its because her eyes were kind of her trademark tho...like if you were to do an impression of her you'd squint lol. So its shocking to see her like that because she lost her "trademark".
i find it so curious that american culture upholds this idea of natural perfection. like, south korea is pretty blase about plastic surgery and some people think that you have a public duty to look your best.
yet the US likes to pretend that all american beauty should be natural (born with it) and if you tweak or 'fix' things with surgery then you are a vain, shallow person. we talk about our workouts, 'healthy' diets and hair routines but rarely reveal the anti aging stuff we do at the same time. and also that weird casual/sloppy outfits and hair with perfectly groomed faces (men and women) and if you're groomed and outfitted in slacks/a dress and not wearing athletic shoes then you're trying to hard?? its weird to me sometimes

me too, actually. plastic surgery and other cosmetic procedures (and stuff like straightening hair) are really popular in brazil and everybody talks about it openly. it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Lmao I think american culture is very HARD WORK!! BOOTSTRAPS!! in general. Like plastic surgery and anti-aging products are cheating and so shouldn't be talked about it. It's stupid.
