I'm not denying this but ngl I'm finding it hard to come up with a comparable American example to the viciousness and officialness with which he and Oscar Wilde etc were persecuted. The U.K. has a REALLY dark history when it comes to this.

Semi o/t, but this friend I was on and off dating for a year really idolizes Alan Turing and wrote his thesis paper in university about him. So while this movie looks interesting, it's just looks like one big trigger for me re: that entire mess I went through with him so I'll probably pass because of that and not primarily because of my mistrust of oversized reptiles.
