'Sing-Off' Premiere Performances
The second season of The Sing-Off, NBC's acapella vocal competition, debuted on Monday with an interesting mix of song selections. The ten competing groups were asked to perform a "signature song" that showcases their musical ability and personal style, and the choices ranged from tunes by artists such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Beyonce, and Mika. Check out the performances below. (Note: a new episode aired earlier this evening, but I thought I'd post the performances from the premiere first in case people missed out. I'll do a post with tonight's performances later.)
On The Rocks - "Bad Romance" (Lady Gaga)
The Whiffenpoofs - "Grace Kelly" (Mika)
Eleventh Hour - "Baby" (Justin Bieber)
The Backbeats - "If I Were A Boy" (Beyonce)
Committed - "This Love" (Maroon 5)
Street Corner Symphony - "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" (Tears For Fears)
Jerry Lawson & The Talk Of The Town - "Save The Last Dance" (The Drifters)
Groove For Thought - "I Wish" (Stevie Wonder)
These were the two groups eliminated by judges Ben Folds, Nicole Scherzinger, and Shawn Stockman.
Pitch Slapped - "Good Girls Go Bad" (Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester)
(I really wanted them to go through, if only for the fact that the guy singing lead in this song was crazy hot.)
Men of Note - "For The Longest Time" (Billy Joel)
(I couldn't find a video of just their performance...I guess no1curred about them that much.)

So who was your favorite, ONTD? I liked The Whiffenpoofs vocally, but they come off very annoying. Honestly, I was really digging the high school kids singing Bieber the most.
