Former WWE Star Gertrude "Luna" Vachon Dies at 48

Former WWE superstar Gertrude "Luna" Vachon died this morning (August 27, 2010) in her mother's house in Florida. She was 48. She has been staying at her mother's house for sometime because her house burned down just recently. The cause of death is still unknown.
Luna was one of the first hardcore female wrestlers on WWF. She apparently took interest in professional wrestling at an early age because she wanted to continue her family's wrestling legacy. Aside from wrestling, she briefly managed Bam Bam Bigelow, Gangrel, Goldust, Oddities & Shawn Michaels' careers. She has also been featured in both Playboy and Hustle, among many other magazines.
"Luna was married three times: First to Dan Hurd, who competed on the sixth season of Fox's reality cooking show Hell's Kitchen. After breaking up, she dated Dick Slater for a while and then after Slater began being physical abusive. She later married childhood friend Tom Nash. After Nash and Vachon called it quits, David Heath (GANGREL: the vampire alpha male to Edge and Christian), who was also Tom's tag-team partner stepped in and was married to Vachon. The two divorced years later in 2006."
