'As the World Turns' Continues to Gay It Up Before Cancellation
Just when those conservative Midwestern housewives thought their Daytime TV was once again safe from the gay, the soon-to-be-ending CBS soap opera "As the World Turns" featured a passionate kiss between two male characters at the end of today's episode. However, the kiss was not between its gay supercouple Luke (Van Hansis) and Noah (Jake Silbermann), who have since broken up, but between Luke and Noah's doctor, Reid Oliver (Eric Sheffer Stevens).
Here's the story, in case you want to place the clip in context: Noah went blind months ago, and rich boy Luke manipulated brilliant neurosurgeon Reid to come to town to operate on him to restore his sight. Although they initially got off on the wrong foot, the two grew closer after Luke and Noah broke up. While trying to sort out their feelings for one another, Reid finally performed the operation on Noah, which resulted in complications that could lead to brain damage.
