“Any occasion to get dressed up and come to horse shows, I’ll jump on it,” up-and-coming British actor Henry Cavill said Sunday as he took in the finals of The Gucci Masters, a four-day equestrian competition sponsored by the Italian leather goods giant and held at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition grounds. The 26-year-old star of the Showtime series “The Tudors” said his next big-screen project is a lead role in a sword-and-sandals film called “War of Gods,” directed by Tarsem Singh. It starts shooting in April. “It’s Caravaggio meets ‘Fight Club,’” Cavill said by way of summary.

The year 2010 will be a better year for the film production in Quebec whereas two productions, whose budgets add up 135 M$, are turned in the metropolis this spring.
According to the Variety specialized magazine, Montreal will off accomodate in February the turning of the film War Gods, a production of 110 M$.
In the facts, War off Gods changed name for Dawn off God, and turning will start in April. As for the budget, it is rather of 75 M$.
“They signed. They start to turn on April 4, confirms Michel Trudel, president de Locations Michel Trudel, while saying to negotiate with the producers since March.
“I went to twice see them in Los Angeles and I had several meetings with them”, says it.
Dawn off God, carried out by Tarsem Singh (The Cell), is produced by Relativity Media, a prolific Californian box which gave films like Fast and Furious, Duplicity, The International, The Tale off Despereaux, Frost/Nixon, and The Mummy: Tomb off the dragon emperor, which was turned besides partly to Montreal during the summer 2007.
Dawn off God, a fantastic action film, tells the history of a man raised by his mother who agrees to be a combatant for the king and to make the war with demons of Greece Antique. With the wire of time, the character learns finally that the king is his father.
No confirmation was still given, but it seems that the role of the Thesus combatant was entrusted to the English actor Henry Cavill, the Charles Brandon of the televised series The Tudors.
Cavill, 26 years, also played in Creek, Stardust, and Hellraiser 8.
The film will be made in five various studios in Montreal.
