So I posted earlier this week that they were auctioning off David Tennant's 15-year old bed for Children in Need on the Absolute Radio Breakfast Show.
£5,000!
That's around US $8,310. The winner was British Gas, a show sponsor. The bid jumped from £200 to £2,000 in about 10 minutes. Shortly after it went to £2,001(sniped Price is Right style by a woman and her 7 year old daughter) for a couple hours until there was a call right at the end. Apparently a bunch of people from the company took a picture on it the day before the auction, making it even more busted. They got a man named Dean from the company on the phone, and he told the story and offered the winning bid.
At least there won't be any David Tennant mattress babies running around? And it goes to a good cause.
