More information and a recording of the same song from a London performance behind the cut.
Nine is a motion picture adaptation of the 1982 Tony award winning musical, itself based upon Fellini's 1963 film 8½. Directed by Rob Marshall, celebrated choreographer and director of Chicago, the movie stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Sophia Loren, Judi Dench and Fergie. The soundtrack is available December 22nd, the same day the film hits New York and Los Angeles, and three days before it's wide release on Christmas Day.
The character Fergie is playing is Saraghina, one of the many women from Guido Contini's (Day-Lewis) past. This is the character in the original Fellini film. Is that some A+ casting or what?
Here is the same song, preceded by the song "Ti Voglio Bene" (which hopefully won't be cut from the film) sung by the same character Fergie is playing.
