Summer is just about here and so are the leading actors of this seasons hottest movies. Hugh Jackman, Robert Pattinson, Chris Pine, Shia LaBeouf and Christian Bale are amongst the most handsome and talented actors of today that make "The Top Five Hot Leading Actors of Summer 2009 Film Examiner's List." But its not just the looks that make these guys so attractive, its more than that. These leading men are not just mere eye candy, they are also talented, savvy, charismatic, funny, charming and intelligent. With such a summer to look forward to with great movies like Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, Little Ashes and XMen Origins: Wolverine, it looks to be more than just your average hot summer.
5. Hugh Jackman
With Xmen Origins: Wolverine just around the corner (May 1) to give us even more breathless scenes of his masculine muscles, Hugh Jackman really can pack a punch with those blades of steel, but this brooding handsome man has proved to us he is more than just another pretty face, he can dance and sing too. After he lead this year's Acadamy Award ceremony and has been chosen as one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" 5 years in a row, 2000-2004 and recently voted "Sexiest Man Alive," Jackman has proven that he has talent and handsome looks and yes, he is intelligent too. This 6'2 and a half Australian gentleman has a Communications degree with a journalism major from the University of Technology Sydney. And in his spare time he likes to play piano, golf and guitar and likes to windsurf.
4. Shia LaBeouf(yumm)
Shia LaBeouf is transforming into one of the hottest young actors of his generation. WithTransformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen due out June 24th, this action star is sure to bring in another box office smash hit. But there is more to Shia than meets the eye, this young talented star has been making ladies pulses rise since the sleeper hit Disturbia along with his other action movies like Eagle Eye, the first Transformers, and Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Cyrstal Skull. Shia has proven that he can act with the best of them from Harrison Ford to Billy Bob Thornton. And he has unbelievable charm, so much that its no wonder that Megan Fox even stated “He has no problem getting girls-it’s like he’s Justin Timberlake. I mean, he’s not Justin Timberlake, but like he is Justin Timberlake."
3. Christian Bale
The Terminator Salvation (opens May 24th) star Christian Bale is not only good looking but very kind-hearted too. This thirty-five year old People's Choice Award Winner is also a vegetarian after he read the book "Charlotte's Web" (aww) and he is active in many organizations including, Ark Trust, Greenpeace, the World Wildlife Foundation, the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, the Redwings Sanctuary, and the Happy Child Mission, and a school for street kids in Rio De Janeiro. His first major movie role came at the age of thirteen in the film Empire of the Sun. His performance in the movie was so amazing that The National Board of Review for Motion Pictures gave him an award for the “Best Performance by a Juvenile Actor”.
2. Robert Pattinson (huh??)
At number 2 on our countdown is a star that has burst onto the scene with the unexpected smash hit Twilight's very own, Robert Pattinson. Girls and moms alike have taken to this gorgeous talented young actor and singer. With two limited release movies coming out, Little Ashes and How To Be, in which, both have already caused a stir amongst millions of fans that want to see these movies as soon as they are available. But the only appeal isnt because of his character Edward Cullen in the famous books by Stephanie Meyer, its more to do with his genuine mystique. He not only is very shy but he is also very down to earth. He recently decided to not use any of his own music in "New Moon" for reasons unknown, but in recent interviews he has stated that he doesnt want to use his success for boosting his own music. Now thats style.
1. Chris Pine
And finally the number one hot guy of summer in 2009 goes to Star Trek's very own Chris Pine. Chris not only has the most beautiful piercing blue eyes since Robert Redford but also has a very positive outlook on things. In a recent interview he stated, "I think the most dangerous word in the English language is should. I should have done this. Or I should do that. Should implies responsibility. It connotes demand. Which is just not the case. Life ebbs and flows." And he also understands perspective. "You don't have control over your situation. But you have a choice of how you view it." Sounds like our number 1 guy has got a good head on his shoulders and a good career ahead of him as he has already been slated to possibly star in the "A-Team" that will be directed by Joe Carnahan. Looks like we will be seeing more of Chris in the near future.
