Marvel Studios is developing a movie based on its Harvey Award-winning comic
Runaways, with co-creator Brian K. Vaughan (also a co-producer and writer on
Lost) writing the adaptation. The comic, which launched in 2002 and won the best
series Harvey Award in 2006, focuses on a group of teenagers who run away from
home together when they discover their parents are super-villains. As they
journey out on their own, they learn more about their parents' origins, as well
as their own inherited powers, while trying to make up for the evil done by
their folks. Vaughan is also the creator of the comic Y: The Last Man, which
recently ended its run and is now being turned into a movie by New Line.

The Runaways movie is at the earliest stages of development, as Marvel has
already mapped out its next four films through 2011: Iron Man 2 will debut on
April 30, 2010; Thor is set for June 4, 2010; The First Avenger: Captain America
is set to release May 6, 2011; and The Avengers (bringing together the
characters Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America, and Thor) is slated
for July 2011. Ant Man has also just been put into development.
