exactly. the junos are based off sales in the same way the american music awards are. The Recording Acadamy chooses the Grammy award winners.

and for the record, Feist is from Nova Scotia.

I'm really looking forward to the nominees. I think it was a pretty decent year for Canadian music....with albums from Arcade Fire, Feist, and Sunset Rubdown. Is anyone going to the Junos this year?

They were named after this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Juneau he started the Canadian content laws for canadian radio (don't think MuchMusic falls under it still :O )
