Source: Britney Went "Completely Pyscho" on Hospital Gurney
Britney Spears went “completely psycho” as she was rushed to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Thursday, a source tells Usmagazine.com
“They had to strap her down like a mental patient and she was going between laughing and hysterics,” the source adds, calling it “a total psychotic breakdown. She just went crazy."
Another Spears pal tells Us: "I guess she has good days and bad days - it's mental instability. All she has is to think of something sad and she goes crazy.”
After she defied court-mandated visitation hours Thursday night by refusing to turn over her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline, police were called to her home and later a reportedly intoxicated Spears was rushed via ambulance to L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

UPDATE
Usmagazine.com has a pretty good "recap" of what happened last night, for those of you who want to get caught up quickly. Here it is:
7 p.m.: Britney is scheduled time to hand over custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 15 months, to Kevin Federline’s bodyguard.
8:30 p.m.: Police arrive at Spears’ Beverly Hills home after being called about a “custodial dispute,” LAPD officer Jason Lee said. Shortly after, Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, arrives.
9 p.m.: Kaplan leaves Spears’ home. Spears’ lawyer - who filed a request to be released from representing the pop star Wednesday - Sorrell Trope, tells Us: "In a normal case when someone shows up with a certified court order saying the kids need to be somewhere else, the police see to it that the order is obeyed. But that is in a normal case."
10:08 p.m.: News helicopters hover over Spears’ home. Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department told City News Service that Spears appeared to be under the influence of an "unknown substance."
10:50 p.m.: The fire department arrives. LAPD Officer Jason Lee tells Us: "The officers are still there. They are trying to resolve this peacefully and legally, according to the court order. They've been there since 8 p.m., and it is in regards to Britney Spears’ custody battle."
11:05 p.m.: Paramedics take a gurney and a backboard into Spears' home. CBS reports a mental evaluator was also called.
11:25 p.m.: An ambulance pulls into Spears' driveway, parking behind her car.
11:50 p.m.: An ambulance carrying Spears and other emergency vehicles leave the scene; it's reported that Sean Preston and Jayden James are taken to Cedars Sinai as well to be evaluated.
12:40 a.m.: Spears arrives, via ambulance, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. (Police had erected screens to shield her from waiting photographers.) Federline and Spears pal Sam Lufti soon arrive separately. Around time of mom's arrival, son Jayden, sucking on a pacifier, is carried into the emergency room by a police officer.
1:10 a.m.: Britney's father Jamie arrives.
3:45 a.m.: A hospital source confirms that Spears remains under observation as a "special needs" patient.
4:15 a.m.: Paparazzi follow a car carrying Jayden James and Sean Preston to Federline’s Tarzana home

Britney NOT on Drugs?!
Life & Style can exclusively report that Britney Spears' blood tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center came back negative, despite earlier reports from police that she appeared to be under the influence of a substance when she was taken from her home after a custody dispute last night.
“Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind,” a source close to the Spears family tells Life & Style.
This indicates that her odd behavior was not the result of substance abuse, as early reports suggested.
Britney appeared to be laughing when she was taken from her home into an ambulance.
But an LAPD spokesperson was unable to confirm or deny to Life & Style on Friday morning that earlier reports indicated that cops believed Britney appeared to be under the influence of a substance when they arrived on the scene.

UPDATE FROM PEOPLE.COM...
Britney on 72-Hour Mental Lockdown
Britney Spears was placed on lock down for a mental evaluation Friday after the pop star locked herself in a room with one of her children at her L.A. home and refused to hand him over to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
A source tells PEOPLE the pop star's court-appointed child monitor called police. "She had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," says the source. "The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney."
Spears, who according to police appeared to be "under the influence of an unknown substance," was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where the source says she will be on a minimum of a 72-hour lock down for mental evaluation.

UPDATE -- LYNNE SPEARS SPEAKS!
Access Hollywood reports the following: "Access also spoke to Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, who was extremely distraught, crying on the phone and asking our staff, “Just say prayers.”
MORE FROM THIS ARTICLE IN A MINUTE, GUYS...
NEW DETAILS/HIGHLIGHTS FROM ACCESS HOLLYWOOD ARTICLE:
“When it was time for Jayden to go visit, get back in the car and go to his dad, Britney did not allow that. She locked herself in a room with Jayden, and that’s when the cops were called,” Castro told Access. “They come in, they get through the door, and they strap Britney down on a gurney.”
The police had a difficult time removing Britney from the locked room, according to Castro. “It’s unclear whether they broke down the door or Britney let them in, but it took a long time for them to get through that door and when they finally got through they saw a disoriented Britney, who hadn’t slept for days, apparently hadn’t eaten for days, and that’s when they decided, ‘Let’s put her in a gurney, she’s under no condition to walk out of here on her own.‘”
