And it's not even $10k, cause you can't just walk in and buy it. You have to build a relationship with a sales rep and spend an unknown amount of money until they finally deem you worthy, call you, and offer you one. Then, you have to decide if you like the color or what they're offering, and if so, then you buy it.
I'd say a good portion of Birkin owners don't even have an account at Hermes. They've purchased theirs from resellers (vintage or otherwise). I mean Kyle Richards has like 15 pairs and she as hell is not dropping 100k at Hermes. I think they even had a reseller feature on one of RHOBH episodes. It was like a tupperware party hosted by Kyle lmao. Granted the bags were still going for 20K a piece so the resale value is extremely high.
Birkins are so damn ugly I cannot comprehend people thinking they look good beyond the feeling of status that comes with owning one. I hope this tanks the perceived value because that would amuse me. 😂
