you can get ordained online, no baptism needed.

now i doubt the people doing that are actually leading churches. it's probably mostly people like me getting ordained to do a friend's wedding ceremony.

I agree, but my mammaw stopped going to church after a certain point and started going to Dollywood every chance she got once she realized that was an option.

Old people need hobbies but they're too easily swayed by religious powers-that-be lol we need hobby "career fairs" for 'em like we used to have in school. It can't all be Jesus. 😭

She had her faults as an ornery Baptist boomer, but I loved her. At risk of an "and then everyone clapped" addendum: she was such a Dollywood frequenter that she lucked herself into a golden lifetime pass by attending an early theatre showing in the park. Even met Dolly on a couple of occasions and even had a photo album full of pictures she took of Dolly over the years as she caught her in her parade performances at Dollywood (and many, many other Dollywood pics throughout the years).

If Dolly had 1 stan, it was her. 🕊
