I remember watching this industry and feeling that I wasn’t represented.

Tyra is a weirdo, but damn if she’s not beautiful.

I was just about to say the same thing. It’s not the point of this post at all but whew that woman is gorgeous. And that hair color on her was inspired.

I'm assuming she meant not represented in terms of her body type (petite, kinda square), but it's some hella poor wording

A blonde, white, posh young woman not feeling represented in the film industry... especially the British film industry. 🤔

Also the only reason she can "not care to abide by those rules" and still make it in this industry is because she's white and posh.

exactly exactly exactlyyyyyyyyy

she grew up in private schools, she's risen up through the ranks so fucking fast and is one of the highest paid marvel actors.

she is exactly what James mcavoy is talking about when it comes to children of working class actors not getting the same opportunities to work in the arts, that the ELITE do. and when it boils down to it, Florence has every privilege a young actress can possibly have in this industry.

She’s talking about her body which people very much commented on when started off and still do. I think it’s kinda clear what she meant, I am sure she recognizes she has privilege and I don’t think she needs to preface every statement with that lol.

Sure she has a point but it was crassly made. Not sure why she felt the need to name drop Meira and specifically say the industry doesn’t think she’s thin anymore - isn’t that just perpetuating it and bringing attention to it? Also a white, British woman not feeling represented is a bit eyeroll-worthy.

a white, british woman who is one of the 6% of people in the UK to attend private school, mind you.

Keira addressed the body shaming she endured recently, so I'm guessing that's why Florence brought it up.

She was likely asked about it.

It's such a garbage double standard because the media would never ask an actor about another actor's weight, especially one who isn't even a costar in anything upcoming.

Idk, I feel like it wasn’t necessary for her to say Kiera’s name as an example of someone who isn’t thin anymore. She coulda left names out of her statement. Nothing wrong with gaining weight, especially when your most famous roles were during your literal teenage years, but saying anyone’s name when making this point is uhhh…I don’t like that.

I read that as her thinking it was ludicrous that was a media headline, not that she agreed with it. I agree it’s a bit weird to specify it was Keira.

Edited for spelling

I’ve seen the headlines too so I see where you’re coming from. I’m sure that’s where Flo was coming from too, but I still think she coulda made the same point without naming anybody, you know? The statement stands on its own.

I just hope Kiera doesn’t read this, and if she does, I hope it doesn’t bother her.

I remember at the height of POTC, there was a lot of speculation of Kiera having anorexia in the media, so Flo mentioning her body/weight is a really poor on her behalf, imo.
