I think most daily mail users are middle aged men. Chances are they’re single or in miserable marriages and love being able to take out their frustrations on women they don’t know.
while i agree, there are unfortunately a lot of women who also won't skip a chance to hate on another woman's appearance (in these screenshots too). in my country the pressure on women's looks is insane. instagram sometimes feeds me videos of 30-something women who are trying to say so this is how normal women of my age look. and most of the comments men AND women jumping them 'no we don't look like that! you just don't take care of yourself!' 'no you're just ugly' 'i'm 10-15 years older and look better than you!' this is sooo depressing, i've never wanted to be born as a man but after reading stuff like this you realize that you as a woman will never be free from the shackles of the way you are perceived in the lens of beauty standards
genuinely insane how commonplace it is for any woman revealing her age on the internet with her face attached to get a barrage of comments all telling her she looks way older. like, what goes on in one's mind to lift their fingers to make comments like that?? is it older/same age people feeling insecure and needing to reassure themselves that they surely look better? younger people thinking they can just do everything "right" and they'll never age themselves?? fatphobic comments are bad too but those people all get to excuse themselves by being like, "well, we just want them to change their habits/be healthier!" or some fucking shit but what does telling someone they look old and haggard accomplish? the (perceived) skin damage is done. you want them to just get plastic surgery? that's a good thing to go around encouraging strangers to do?
I know this places hates Taylor but her lyric from Mad Woman “women like hunting witches too/doing your dirtiest work for you” She really went off with that lol it’s sadly so true

ETA: Also, body shaming women publicly like this is a male bonding activity. They are showing off for each other and it's so pathetic.
