2x9: Full Grown Dude Face While trying to stay out of Alice's business, Jimmy has to "Jimmy" an insecure Brian. Gaby leans on Paul for advice after her sister drops a bomb.
This season makes me think every person in the writers room is a parent iykwim. The end with Jimmy and Alice was really touching though.
I wonder if Sean will move back in with his parents at the end of the season. I want him in the show and I love the makeshift family with him, Alice and Jimmy, but they’ll need to give him more to do.
I really like this show for the most part, mainly due to the talented cast and their chemistry, but they're really leaning into the corny sentimentality this season. Maybe it was always this way and I just didn't notice. But sometimes it reminds me of like - Full House.
It makes me appreciate Somebody Somewhere even more, which manages to be heartfelt and heartwarming without ever being cloying or cheesy.
You know what...I hope to God the Louis thing doesn't become an issue now that Jimmy and Alice are doing better. It kinda seemed like it was gonna go that way.
Everyone is such a good actor and can make even the most annoying characters likeable (Liz is a bit weird, but I think it's because of all the botox that it's hard for the actress to believably emote).
I do think there's a lot of funny moments this season but they feel like less real people to me now, somehow and still, everything gets resolved way too quickly. Gaby and Paul are hilarious though and they have the most interesting storylines to me.
