I really like Daniel Craig. He seems really sound and self-assured, which isn't easy when, like he says, you get caught up in the Bond machinery. Because it's not just the role, which, yeah, it's hard not to judge sometimes when you're playing it, I bet--but it's also all the ad campaigns and the fact that in press junkets and the like you can't get away with even being very winkingly self aware about it without a bunch of manbabies having a meltdown.

Yeah, every time he does an interview I recognize exactly why Rachel Weisz blew up her marriage for him

For real I remember when he was announced as Bond, and he was brought down the Thames on a speedboat by (I think) the actual SAS. He had to wear a life vest for health and safety and people were taking the piss on the frnt cover of tabloids about it. Like ok I'm sorry the man can't expect BASIC LIFE SAVING EQUIPMENT while he's BARRELING DOWN THE THAMES on a SPEEDBOAT because it doesn't align with your view of a completely fictious character.

they were also making fun of his long blonde hair in way that was infantilizing, I bet it was unbearable from the very beggining

There are a lot of men who come across as fully performative in their feminism. Daniel Craig really doesn't seem to be that way.

Also, I remember when I first saw him in theaters in Tomb Raider... Gay awakening!
