A mid-season Sherlock reveal feels like such an obvious 'plot twist'. They won't be able to help themselves.

Oh 100%. It looks like the death of this show's Sherlock is Reichenbach/The Fall, and he canonically "returns" from the dead in the books after that, so there's no way they're not closing the season out with a Holmesian-sized surprise.

I’m about to start a rewatch of House and while I understand why they had Hugh do an American accent I sometimes wish we had got a British House

I would love another proper Victorian adaptation tbh. One that follows the novels and short stories and stops trying to put their own spin* on the series. I am sick of the modern takes and let's not pretend the RDJ and Jude Law movies are faithful to the source material.
