They say he was a terrible person.

Still, to lay somewhere, dead, undiscovered for 3 weeks, is absolutely tragic.

R.I.P.

I genuinely haven't kept up with him , I remember him running his mouth shortly after leaving the band and a few years ago he was selling some of his gear. I'm sad to hear he was terrible, but this is tragic way to die.

I didn’t take it as that, just that the last time someone saw him was the 4th.

But agreed, if that’s the case. Reminds me of the woman in England who was undiscovered for months. I feel like I’ve sadly read about a few other instances like that 😔

There's an episode of Six Feet Under about that, too. One of the most haunting "opening deaths" imo. Nobody comes to her funeral, either.

RIP. he really put his foot in it uhhhh quite frequently on social media, but it was clear as day that he'd been struggling for years and was quite unwell - it was sad to watch and i wish he could've gotten the help he needed. and there's no denying that he was an incredible drummer. i'm sure there's a lot of people feeling weird, hard, complicated feelings about this today. thank you OP for including the link to suicide hotlines <3

Whew, the wider fandom is being godawful about this. If we can find nuance in Liam Payne’s death, there can be nuance here as well. Bob had some horrible views and said some shitty things and I won’t excuse those, but I’m not going to celebrate a man being at his lowest. He was very clearly unwell and had been struggling for some time. He was dealt an excessively shitty hand, and it’s hard of me to not be sympathetic. I was really hoping he’d get some help. His recent twitter spirals really seemed like a cry for someone to notice, tbh. :/

He was a HELL of a drummer, and he clearly gave his all in the time he was with the band. Dude caught on fire during the Famous Last Words video and just dealt with it so not to ruin the shot. I wish his family all the best, and I can’t imagine this will be easy on the other band members either, regardless of what they felt about him by this point.

Right? The way young people are acting is so gross, it’s like…I wouldn’t wish the way he died on my worst enemy. I think a lot of people just don’t think before they speak or have enough life experience to know why it’s fucked up to celebrate a guy’s death like this.

Same with all the people being like “well RIP but he was of course shitty” like as if everyone was waiting for their comments 😭 Just don’t say anything at that point

Well said. I don’t think many people understand that mourning the person that somebody used to be before their struggles is not the same as celebrating the person they unfortunately turned into.

His injuries from the FLW shoot led to longterm issues too and it fucked up his wrists so he couldn't play anymore. I can't imagine how much that must have depressed him.

Also the fandom can be absolute toxicity, apparently people were still tweeting him "kys" as of a few days ago and I just cannot with the people who are joking about this.
