I get the point/commentary of RDJ’s character, but it’s still blackface. Stiller could have found a way to make his point without using blackface. It’s been a while since I saw the movie, but didn’t they redeem his character at the end and he saves everyone?

This is what happens when Hollywood and its followers, continuously coddle blackface performers and defenders. Every time the cast of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" flash their toothy grins on late night, their "style of comedy" is legitimised. They are given impunity and fools like Ben Stiller feel emboldened to make pig-ignorant statements like this.
