It was a very different (and much more interesting series) with the original showrunner; Abed and Sam Levinson made a lot of changes (all terrible) to the script once they signed on, and we got...that.

The idol really could’ve been a good show about a pop star bounces back. The 2nd episode where she was filming the music video was great. Too bad it turned into some weird torture porn

The first two episodes before Able took over were golden. I cherish them deeply

I really felt like the 2nd episode was strongly based off Britney's experiences 2009-2016

There is a certain amount of privilege in thinking that the possibility of working with a well-known director is merely a matter of time rather than a "maybe someday" hope
i'm not passing judgment, i'm just fascinated by the way nepo babies view the world
