i feel like this show has always required some level of suspension of disbelief to make it work. like in no believable universe would jimmy jimmying not get him almost immediately fired and his license revoked, at MINIMUM. but this show is less concerned about the practicality vs hitting the emotional beats and from that perspective i’m really enjoying s2. i feel this year has been much messier and there’s been longer plot lines vs s1, which definitely was about dealing with grief, but everything mostly worked out for everyone by the end of each episode
i love derek/ted mcginley a lot and that scene was pretty soul crushing, but i actually think michael urie has been the mvp for me so far, his physical comedy is so gd funny. i’ve been more or less lukewarm with brian’s storylines this season but i think michael urie has truly been killing it
