I live for how pearl-clutchy she gets people. Haven't seen this kind of misogynistic sanctimony over an adult woman singing about adult themes since Miley transitioned away from Hannah Montana! Weirdly, people are comparing the two a lot lately.

like Ariana was a huge Nickelodeon star but no one (in my memory) batted an eye when she started releasing bops about getting railed. but Sabrina is petite and blonde and has a '50s aesthetic so I guess people have trouble wrapping their brains around a woman who doesn't "look" like a "slut" being so sexually realized and in control.

It's the same refrain with every young woman in the industry, the misogyny involved is so tiresome - "you are young and female so you must be therefore for kids, we couldn't possibly take you seriously for an adult audience" at the same time as "if you're not fuckable/sexualised enough we'll complain."

totally, but I almost feel like it's been extra bad for her lately in part because she "was in Disney Channel" and like I said is petite and blonde so it's FREAKING people out to an absurd degree
