I also find most of the "nows my chance to be a meme" contestants annoying. He's probably tired of people saying dumb things just to force him to provide some over the top reaction like they are hilarious.

I don't blame him, whenever I catch some family feud people are saying the stupidest shit, makes you just wanna yell at the screen. I don't think he should be fired unless he's being outright hateful, but a little snarky is okay, that's part of the fun of the banter between a host and contestants.

...yeah, I'm not buying this. They've purposefully amped up the dumb and/or salacious questions in order to get those kinds of answers so clips can go viral or whatever. How else is an old, waiting room-ass show like this going to get attention? So either this is fake or he's getting fired for another reason and they're getting out ahead of it. 👀

I was coming in to make a similar comment. So many of the dumbest answers (including Steve’s incredulous reactions) have gone viral on social media so I can imagine the producers have egged this stuff on over the years.

Though I guess it could be a fine line where the incredulous reaction can veer “too far” into making fun of contestants - but Steve has also been on this show so long now where i wonder if he’s over it lol

I've watched this show over the years (my parents love game show network so when visiting it's on a lot) and it was funny when people would say a dumb answer bc they genuinely didn't get the question or didn't get the joke and Steve would razz them for it a bit. But over time you can tell people give bad answers just hoping Steve will do a bit for them or they think they are funny. You can usually tell if Steve is actually laughing bc he's caught off guard or if he's faking it bc he's like "sit down you're not being paid to do jokes".
