Denzel has no reason to lie, so.

Somebody ask him why he cut May Calamawy from the film while we are at it.

Do we know anything about the role she was supposed to have? I couldn't find anything and having seen the movie, I have no idea where another character would fit in. I hope we get an extended cut because these reports about what's not in the film are so confusing.

she was cast as the female lead (not as paul's wife and she was not recast like some were saying) and from the few scenes she's still in it looks like she might've been in cahoots with denzel's character, maybe to seduce one of the emperors to get macrinus closer to them? [Spoiler (click to open)]because going from just presenting them with lucius to suddenly geta going "oh i've come to see you as a friend these past few days" seemed kinda out of nowhere. a lot seems to have been cut in general tbh.

[Spoiler (click to open)]oh wow that's absolutely wild that she was a lead? Your theory makes sense though it makes her character sound more on a level with Tim McInnerny's (who was strangely missing from the credits despite a fairly major role). I wondered whether she was connected to Lucilla and Acacius because the mother/son reconciliation also seemed to miss a step or two. It's really wild they would've been able to cut out so much. Now I really need the extended version and/or an explanation why these cuts happened.

So...they didn't kiss for real for real? Still doesn't stop it from being cut out of the film but sure

I've been confused as to who it could've been. [Spoiler (click to open)]He kisses Tim McInnerny's character a bunch when he's taking over his house so I could easily see a take where he plants one on his mouth but Denzel said it's a kiss of death and the other guy survives the encounter. And then with the characters that Denzel does kill, I don't really see where a kiss fits in any of those scenes? Very confusing. Either way, give us all the deleted scenes and then do Gladiator III and gives us some gay action in ancient Rome, it'll be the most historically accurate thing in it.

I thought of that scene too but also [spoiler] I got a bit of sexual tension between Macrinus and the brothers, maybe he tried to seduce Caracalla to kill Geta?

[Spoiler (click to open)]fred hechinger said he saw the kiss but it wasn't with him so my guess is that he kissed joseph since he does technically kill him and like who else did fred even have scenes with to be able to have seen the kiss happen? lol

This month has been very disappointing for movies/TV getting thiiiiis close to gay kisses and then not delivering.
