It sounds just like her and nothing like her at the same time. I admittedly haven’t listened to her solo stuff in years but for lack of a better way to describe it, it’s very, country singer attempts Gwen Stefani-esque vocals. Rather than Gwen Stefani does country. Still, I hope she’s actually happier now.
I like the song and i like the target “limited edition” cover but i had a chance to buy it over the weekend and opted not to :( its her weakest album to date. I loved her last one so much and even thought it has blake shelton “Purple Irises” is one of the best songs of the year. I miss the pop Gwen of the previous 3 albums this dip into country is just NOT IT. Also she already dragged and exposed the FATHER OF HA CHILDREN like Molly Virus before Flowers was decent but Slide Away ran circles around it. Like please get over it in your art repetition is NAGL its time to grow up and let go (THIS IS WHAT THE TRUTH FEELS LIKE>>>>>> Bouquet)
