Javier Bardem to Star in ‘Cape Fear’ TV Series at Apple

Apple TV+ has given a series order to an adaptation of “Cape Fear,” with Javier Bardem set for one of the lead roles.

Great, a remake of a remake.

But will this version actually be filmed in North Carolina for once?! We have a film industry! Our biggest studio is legit pretty fucking close to the actual Cape Fear River!

Speaking of remakes anyone prefer the original Cape Fear? Robert Mitchum was scarier than Robert De Niro imo.

I HATED the remake (I also don't care for 90s cinema in general though idk). I know there's something to be said about what the production code allowed to be shown, but I thought the suspense was perfect in the original and Mitchum was terrifying without it being graphic especially in re: to the character's attentions to the daughter. Plus, who can beat Gregory Peck in the hero dad role? The remake just felt icky to me.

Robert Mitchum is so terrifying to me in this and The Night of the Hunter. He is one of the top villains of all time. He really plays someone who has NOTHING to lose and capable of ANYTHING so well.
