I'm still in the early phases of Act 2 of Veilguard. (I think, lol. Idk for sure but it feels like early in Act 2.) So if you want to avoid spoilers from before that point, that's what is behind the spoiler cut.
[Spoiler (click to open)]making all kinds of dialogue choices, not knowing of the potential ramifications is so scary. next play through i WILL be referencing a cheat sheet of what to say/not say for ideal outcomes

I just finished Last of Us Pt 2 so now I'm in this weird spot where I could go onto something new or finish another game that's in progress. I kind of want to wait to see if I can score Baldur's Gate for Black Friday.
I am still playing through Veilguard. I think I finished Act 1? Idfk. I like a few of the companions but none are standouts, really. I can't even decide who I want to romance because I don't feel strongly enough about any of them. Maybe Harding or Davrin? Who knows. I was considering Lucanis but [Spoiler (click to open)]I chose Minrathous so he's locked out, whoops. I like Rook enough but I feel like there's very little room to make them feel different on another playthrough.

Yeah I'm feeling that too. The different types of Hawkes you could play felt very distinct. And even with the Quizzy you could make some choices about how you viewed the Maker and yourself that make things feel very different. With Rook it's like... the different dialogue options don't actually feel that different?
[Spoiler (click to open)]That's exactly what I was thinking about the dialogue. Like, it all ends up feeling somewhat jokey but supportive leader Rook. Like, yeah they're the leader, but let me be an asshole sometimes! Let me be chaotic!! Even Shepard could do some real jackass things. It's kind of lacking with the RP part of RPG tbh, which is a bummer./lj-spoiler>
Re: the lesser differentiation between personality types, a comment I saw on Bluesky which I've now kind of adopted as headcanon is that the HoF/Hawke/Inquiz can be any kind of personality type because none of them wound up in their positions through any kind of personal attribute(s). All of them tripped and fell into events much bigger than them, and that can happen as easily to an asshole as a goody two shoes. Whereas Rook can't be too much of an asshole because...
[Spoiler (click to open)]...they were hand-selected by Varric. Varric wouldn't pick that person.
Saw Longlegs and overall I enjoyed it (Maika Monroe performance, seeing Blair Underwood on screen and Nicolas Cage though someone other than Kiernan Shipka played Carrie Anne) but I have so many questions such as (spoilers ahead):
[---------------Spoilers-----------------] How didn't Harker and Carter didn't realize that his daughter birthday fell on the 14th and that his family would Longlegs next victim?
Has Harker always had psychic ability or was it after Longlegs put that 'spell' on her?
At the end, how was she out of bullets? I don't think she used her gun until the end but she didn't shoot but like 2 or 3 times or am I misremembering wrong?
