I recognize this is an incredibly naive question, but help me, ON-TD, you're my only hope.

Advice has been to join like minded groups in your community to get through the upcoming hell we're about to experince, but I'm new to my area, an introvert, an old, and am not religious so I don't have a church base to go to. My besties don't live in my state, and I work remote so only see my coworkers over Zoom.

How do I find groups? I got rid of Facebook years ago but it seems like that's the place. Do I reactivate? I looked at Meet Ups and tried to Google interests that I have but it's been mostly a bust.

if you're in a bigger metro area, you can see if there is a discord server specific to the city you're in/near.

you can also see if there is a subreddit for your locality. sometimes they'll hold meetups.

the way i got started was googling "[my city] progressive groups" and our local chapter of Our Revolution (which i actually think dissolved since then sadly) happened to be having a meeting either that day or a couple days later. so i went to that and people had info on other organizations & upcoming events!

our local DSA chapter used to be really plugged in with grassroots organizations around the city but our chapter has really petered out too. but if you have a local DSA that also might be a good place to start

Google "mutual aid groups" in your area and see what pops up. Food Not Bombs, feeding the homeless, etc.

Any chance the actual people who work for the AG will know how bad what he wants is and just work really slowly/not great to minimize damage? I feel like our civil servants really need to try some weaponized incompetence for a few years.
