i'm on my fourth dog of my life, and the open obsession has run through all of them. I can still talk ad nauseam about my three previous dogs and they all passed a long while ago.

I can talk for hours about my dog who passed three years ago. Even though I’ll admit, I don’t think about him as much as I used to something will trigger me and then I’ll suddenly be obsessed with him all over again. I miss that little fucker.

My parents had a purebred miniature schnauzer growing up and that dog hated me, so now I don't like them either. I think if they didn't have that very particular grooming style they do I wouldn't be bothered so much, but childhood trauma runs deep! 😂

imo schnauzers, dachshunds, and westies are the best of the smaller breeds. functional and they can actually breathe.
