I still only almost like the show. It’s too hammy how genius, special, and always right the main character is and her acting is a miss for me too. The mysteries are also really weak. This week’s episode for example had a really weak, anticlimactic conclusion.

OTOH Matlock is hammy in its own way but I really like it. There’s Kathy Bates ofc, but I really like the supporting cast too, especially Olympia, and they have their own personalities instead of just being there to prop up the main character.

ETA: not my being the one comment to hate on the lead’s acting lol 💀

and i love that i might not realise matty's machinations until the end of that episode. i hate when i can see it all before it happens!

i do worry about the pressure to solve the mystery quickly vs keeping the tension in the show when that main plot is resolved

I wonder how they’ll deal with that too. My guess is there will be another big pharma big bad that she’ll have to take down.
