This show is enjoyable enough because of main characters’ dynamic but the mystery is lacking a bit. She magically solves everything while an actual detective always makes wrong guesses lol. I wouldn’t mind it if it was more about the characters but they do focus a lot on the cases each episode because of the format, it just ends up too easy for her. I’d be surprised if it gets renewed.

I didn't watch that show, but does everyone around her suck at their job and she saves them all? I just don't like when a main character is too powerful then it feels like there are no actual obstacles, and the way she comes up with the solution is always the same...like ZING then suddenly the reveal of everything. Is Elsbeth like that? I like smart characters but I want to see them be wrong and let someone else solve something for a change too, or at least to mix it up with the way they solve the crime, everything is just too convenient here lmao

Actually lol I liked Lucifer...You had this devil with a power but he was still limited with his usage of it and the actual detective had to solve the crime most of the time. It felt more like a team effort there.

Elsbeth is similar but she works closely with another cop she forms a friendship with who is smart too. Elsbeth is a less condescending show and character.

her bff is on the force and they work well together and rely on other detectives. it is way more collaborative

Love Elsbeth. That show works so much better because she’s not an unbelievable genius who just happens to know every fact under the sun and she genuinely works with other people and has a partner who’s smart and observant too.

i watch both shows and to me, Elsbeth is worse. This season, they toned it down, but i was getting annoyed by her obsession with one suspect because "people don't talk like that"
the season one finale was the best because she, like all other detectives, used evidence to find the killer

Elsbeth is Colombo wihout the charm. She hones in on a suspect based on nothing but vibes.

The amount and size of the bags make no sense unless she is literally putting one thing in each bag.

in the first episode, it was justified because she arrived at work right off the bus, but they didn't give us any reason to why she continues to carry them
they want to make her seem eccentric, but it just looks badly done

Her magically solving everything wouldn’t be so boring and grating if they gave her character some flaws but instead she’s a great mom, great detective, etc etc.
