This week's opening number (with the return of Sharna!) was an homage to the first dance ever performed on the show, Joey McIntyre and Ashly DelGrosso's cha cha cha:

I was disappointed with how little they used the returning pros. Sharna is nice but Anna, Karina, Edyta, Tony, Maks, Louis are the classic pros and even if they didn’t want to dance, it would have been nice to highlight them somehow. They couldn’t even get Mark for the opening number? And I know Cheryl is on the outs but she really kicked the show to a new level with her first freestyle.

Chandler’s dances were both great. Hers was the only instant dance that looked polished at all.

I voted for Dwight as the worst and he was the right person to go home but I do want to credit him for his partnering. His size was an advantage but lifts still require technique and he learned it and kept Dani safe all season. The way he picked her up when she slipped was good.

I know she has intense fans but Ilona is the weakest dancer left. That instant dance was very revealing.

I'm still offended on Chandler's behalf that she didn't get a 30 for her contemporary routine a few weeks ago, especially when so many other (much worse) dancers have received high scores for not actually doing contemporary in their contemporary routines. You will never convince me that Dwight deserved a 10 for his or that Danny deserved all 9s for his (while Chandler got all 8s for hers).

Too many of the female pros use contemporary as an excuse to let their athlete partners rely solely upon their upper body strength so that the girls can show off and do a bunch of lifts. Yes, there are lifts in contemporary, but Jenna basically used Joey as a forklift for the entire routine. He barely danced at all. The sad thing is that when she actually gave him an 8 count of some contemporary moves, he was fine. She could have given him more contemporary to do but as usual, she loves showcasing herself.

ITA that the number of pros they had return (just Sharna) was extremely disappointing. Like seriously? With 33 seasons and over 50 pros, they ( ... )

How many of the professional dancers from Strictly are at the American version now?

Between Strictly and SYTYCD, that's a good chunk of the pros!

Chandler was head and shoulders above everyone else (as usual). She really deserves to win this season because no one else is even close.

Stephen has been a bit hit or miss for me, but I was impressed with his Viennese waltz. His jive was also pretty good because he had a lightness which is rare in male celebs (most of them can't bounce).

I miss Sharna so much. I wish they'd bring her back for at least one more season and give her a ringer so that she can go out with a bang. I'd also love to see her as a judge one day.

Chandler is definitely the best dancer left. I love Ilona and Stephen but neither are very consistent with their dances. Same with Danny too. Joey is very forgettable to me and I just don't care about Bachelor people.
