supposedly the original(?) idea for this season was that there would be a time jump and the characters would be college aged.

You can't just announce something as if it's some blackmail to get everyone involved, unless they're gonna do an Arrested Development season 4 situation and film everyone separately and then try and make it make sense in post.

Also, I highly doubt he actually finished those scripts BEFORE filming started. You know his ass is gonna throw it out before production starts.
