I still don't get why we need a new hp tv shows... is there really appetite for it?

The fantastic beast saga bombed.

That’s probably one of the reasons why. Warner Bros. wants to keep the milking the property (video games, amusement parks, toys, etc) so they’re going back to the original books in light of the Fantastic Beasts films going under.

It's also way cheaper to just remake things you already have a license for it rather than get new entertainment properties

Unfortunately, I think there actually super is. Fantastic Beasts bombed because they tried to make movies out of literally no actual material, and also Johnny Depp is literally terrible and can't act his way out of a paper bag.

But there is still a lot of nostalgia out there, and apparently Jo being the Terf Queen isn't enough to turn people off. I know a bunch of my friends (who are IN A PRIDE COMMITTEE) who have gone to Harry potter world literally this year. These are people in rainbow positions who support trans people :|

I still don't know why as an actor you would even be inclined to attached yourself to the HP universe

I don't see it, but he's a chameleon so he could probably pull it off.

A wish list is a wish list, it doesn't reflect how likely they are to actually get anyone. They're probably just throwing this out to see what reaction they get.

And if anything my bet is JK's fuckery has made them a lot less likely to get established actors who can afford to be picky about who they work with. She's made herself a toxic association, even people who don't care about her bigotry aren't going to be keen to sign up for the backlash.

Does being top of the casting wishlist actually mean he's actively interested/auditioning?
