she had such an overnight, overwhelming success that i don't fault her for trying to protect herself amidst all this. she was an 'underground' artist for so long, and now she's fodder for stan twitter's long threads. get the best of the best, chappell!

I can't even imagine what it would be like if I became so famous all of a sudden. I wouldn't be able to handle it. She needs a team that can support her properly, so she can keep doing what she loves

There were rumblings about this in real time at Austin City Limits and honestly, she probably should have done it even sooner. Her team truly had no way of dealing with an artist blowing up at this level. With that being SAID, I hope she replaces them with a team that's gonna listen to her and give her the attention she needs. She's a lesbian artist during the Trump years now, the label may be squeamish and look to pull back on their LGBTQIA+ artists despite any success that has been attained. So, she's gotta be careful to find a team that not only fights for her, but isn't just trying to make a quick cash in and bail before the possible sophomore slump or worse, possible Trump era censorship.

It'll probably not happen but part of me wants her to go with Roger Davies. Pretty much no manager has worked with powerful women better than that guy and he gets stuff DONE.

He's an Australian manager that is truly one of the great managers, especially when it comes to touring, getting his female artists incredible paydays, and helping them achieve exactly what they want to do. He's managed Olivia Newton-John, Tina Turner (he helped her make her post Ike comeback and stayed her manager for the rest of her life, it was also frankly he and Tina that masterminded what we know think of as the stadium world tour), Janet Jackson during her most successful years (1989-2002),Joe Crocker, and currently Pink, Cher and Sade! He's getting older so I'm not sure if he's taking on new clients but without a doubt, with his talents and connections, he could take Chappell to the next level and help her have staying power.

seems like the correct move. hope she finds someone who supports her well and can handle the sort of spotlight she's been catapulted into.
