I am too tired to even get worked up by that anymore. He won the election, obviously there are many people "secretly" or not in support of him and I no longer have the nerve to even bother to engage with those people. He's a convict, rapist etc and those people still voted for him. It would be like talking to a wall.

This morning I had the depressing realization that the more we scream what a piece of shit he is, the more they will feel special for understanding the “truth” and the tighter they will cling to his bullshit.

I had this discussion with someone the other day about vaccine deniers a few days before elections... I said it's the analogy as trying to get someone out of a cult. The more you forcefully try to get them out, yell, scream, cry, argue, try to rationalize, etc... the more they are gonna double down and stay. The only thing to do is to leave breadcrumbs, not argue, and not shut them out completely (cos honestly, everyone will have to deal with someone who voted for him, whether we like it or not), and let them realize the mistake they made by themselves. It will be a tough reality for them once everything clicks into place but this is how it has to go down.
