To conclude the interview, Scott is asked if he has anything else to add to which he simply replies, "I miss my brother."

Can I say I'm crying after reading that line. I've lost so much family in the last 4 years, very close to me. And it has been hard, especially mentally and emotionally. Idk that reading that has me so emotional.

I need to call it a night but from the summary alone I need to read this whole interview.

Well. I've been knighted twice. [...] Look, my reward is being allowed to do what I do. [...] Pauline Kael in The New Yorker killed me stone dead with her Blade Runner review. It was four pages of destruction. I never met her. I was so offended. I framed those pages and they've been in my office for 30 years to remind me there's only one critic that counts and that's you.

Waiting for winning an Oscar not meaning shit. I remember Spike Lee rightfully saying “No one talks about Driving Miss Daisy in film school” (but also, film school ain’t shit lol. So much pretentiousness and I hope it’s evolved since I’ve been). I also have feelings on Pauline but she was a trailblazer and didn’t give a shit (I think?) so there’s that.

I will never forget Quentin and the producers of ER for giving him so much free rein for that one episode he directed. Thought it was cute he gave his then gf, Kathy Griffin, a role.

I remember how big of a deal it was when Tarantino directed an episode of CSI too, ha.

I rewatched The Gladiator tonight in preparation for the sequel.

When Scott gets it right, he gets it right.

I really hope Pedro is in Gladiator 2 for more than the rumored 15mins (but I'm sure he will die an early death because women and gays can't have nice things).

I saw it tonight and he’s definitely in it for more than 15 minutes. His character is pretty integral to the story.
