'Mickey 17' Pushed Back Once More to April 2025

Warner Bros. has shifted the Robert Pattinson-led sci-fi film “Mickey 17” to April 18, 2025, three months after the previous release date of Jan. 31, 2025.

Do actors get paid when the movie is made or released?

when it gets made is my understanding, but a lot of bigger-name actors have a box office bonus built into their contracts. if the movie does well when it releases, they get a certain amount. margot robbie, for instance, got a huge second check when barbie came out for being both the lead actress and a producer.

that’s why you see netflix offer SO much money up-front for movies too. no one gets a big box office bonus when a movie goes to netflix, so they pay more in advance (generally speaking) to entice them instead.

i am really not looking forward to that michael jackson biopic making an inevitable awards run now that it’s moved to fall. even if it goes nowhere, it’s going to be a total shit show.
