I hate how literal red carpet styling has gotten. Margot got away with it for Barbie but that was an exception, it was Barbie. And Zendaya gets away with it because her and Law clearly put a lot of thought and intention into the lewks. But that’s it! Now everyone does the most basic and literal interpretations of their movie/character and it’s just so boring and never stylish and it makes me sad, i want fashion! not whatever the fuck ariana thinks she's serving here
Jenna Ortega just did it with the Beetlejuice² promo tour and she looked amazing. I think that method dressing still works if 1) the outfits are actually nice and smartly inspired by the movie and 2) it stops and starts at the promo tour.
It was cool to see Margot dress up as Barbie because she usually doesn't dress like that. But she eventually went back to Margot Robbie. Ariana and Cynthia have been dressing like that for a year now. We're already over it and it's only their first premiere. That's sad! Also, there are so many cool references from The Wizard of Oz universe to use for their styling but they're so basic they pretty much only go for "pink and princessy" for Ariana and "green and witchy" for Cynthia. Boring!
Mte. We are still going to know who plays which character even if Ariana isn't in a puffy pink ball gown. Same applies for Cynthia. And pink has great shades. I didn't see the musical but I don't know if Chenowith would voluntarily look this bad in front of millions
I mean to be fair most people only know that Chenowith is known as Glinda because she paraded herself around in pink frilly ball gowns for YEARS on every network/talkshow/layenight/charity event/etc.

Please tell me Cynthia isn’t in a LV contract. Her looks are all gonna be so ugly.
