I would love a Jessica Rabbit movie if done right.

He also said somewhere recently that he wanted to do a Back to the Future musical movie but that was rejected. The musical on Broadway is closing due to poor sales and I doubt a movie version would have been that popular given how people like musical movies.

Honestly I'm glad it's closing because why do we need musicals based on movies? ffs, there's also a Death Becomes Her musical now? Can't we let original ideas on stage?

I mean, probably not, but I'd argue a lot more is stopping a Roger Rabbit sequel. Disney would never let their characters be used alongside Warner Bros characters nowadays, for example. They barely allowed it in 1988, and that's a huge part of what made Roger Rabbit special.

Right? They didn’t even allow Disney characters in Fortnite until they had a stake in Epic. And even then Cruella, Hook, and Maleficent don’t look like themselves.

It’d look more like that garbage Chip and Dale movie.

One fact I always remember is that WB refused to let Bugs in the movie unless he got equal amounts of screentime with Mickey. That's why they always show up together.

Honestly we don't need a sequel. I do wish that studios were willing to take risks like that though. When you look at what went into making the movie it's actually pretty incredible. But god forbid they give people a budget to be creative.

Anyway, I'm very amused that young me was like 👁️👄👁️ at Jessica Rabbit as a child and had no idea what I was experiencing at the time.
