I mean, that's kinda on her? After the first movie gave me a net profit I would have been on my phone with my advisor and the fiance people at Summit telling them I wanted in.

I wonder how many of these funding deals we never hear about. Interesting she didn't get in on the sequel either, did she just not notice it was a hit?

She’s mentioning she got in through a gap financing process, probably because the first was precisely a hit, the sequels didn’t need extra financing venues and to get in you had to become a full fledge producer and not contribute with “merely” 6 million.

Funny enough I was thinking of Demi Moore! I remember seeing her name listed as one of the producers for Austin Powers 1 when I was a kid! And I don’t think the first one was intended on being a big hit but I can imagine how much she earned later on due to it becoming a successful franchise.
