I loved it, good decision though to release the last two episodes, with Ep. 8 having all the action and Ep. 9 having most of the emotional wrap ups.
I've been emotionally preparing to groan over a Ralf Boner stand-up post-credit scene for two weeks now and we didn't get it? Maybe Marvel truly is changing. (Seriously though, were is my post-credit scene?)
The Ballad of the Witches' Road is really a BOP! I can't stop singing it! I know I'd look bad in it but I want Agatha's coat.
[Spoiler (click to open)]Billy's suit looked kinda cheap but he was cute in it. It was funny to see him get back in the car after he made such a big entrance. I love that they never made Agatha a good person (she was a terrible mother, she loved her son but she was selfish as hell), and ghost Agatha looks fab. Gonna miss seeing her for real though, like I don't think I'll like seeing Kathryn like this for long. Did they mention what they wanted to do with Lady Death? I want more of her, she just disappeared and we still don't know why Rio was after Agatha for so long. I kinda hoped we'd see their story as well. I didn't care about Nicky, it was clear he died since episode 1.
I think Rio was after Agatha because she's trying to reunite her family. When she collected nikki, she didn't leave a body behind. That means that he is still alive in the after world. But Agatha can't seem to believe she's worthy of love, so she has to become a good person which is opposite of her nature so she can live up to what her son thought of her before she sees him again. The whole show, Agatha is clearly in a love-hate relationship with Death as a person and death as a concept. Death is what gives her her power but if she gives into death she will be powerless. Much like people feel about giving in to love when they have control issues.
The real tragedy is them dropping all those additional Agatha looks, especially the 80s leather jacket one ON THE DAY OF HALLOWEEN! [Spoiler (click to open)] I don't mind The Road being Billy's spontaneous creation. Agatha planned to kill them all from the start and at the end she did get Alice, and Lilia knew she'd "die" anyway, but as she's not experiencing time in a linear fashion, she still has all her life to go thru. The one senseless death was Sharon/Mrs Hart. We know from the very first challenge Agatha has never been on The Road so I'm glad they tied it all up with her as well.
I'm glad there's another generation that gets to fall in love with Patti now. And Joe surprised me how good of an actor he is, after all 3 seasons of HS I did not expect that.
Kathryn and Joe absolutely killed it. “Sometimes boys just die” made me so emotional, as did basically all of Joe’s nonverbal acting. Honestly yes there are changes I’d have made but I truly loved this show, and basically all the acting performances. Kathryn is extraordinary
